Have a Day Calendar

october

I deeply regret to tell you all that the “Have a Day” calendar has been cancelled, and the Have a Day Page-a-Day is published but cannot be found on the internet. I guess the “Have a Day” calendars just aren’t in demand as they’ve been in the past, which I find to be rather weird since I think it’s pretty timeless stuff. It had been a playground for Brian and I, and represents the heart and soul of Mantis Design. Unfortunately, my publisher has informed me that we won’t be doing a calendar for 2008. Perhaps some day we’ll try and bring it back.

To all those who picked one up in the past and enjoyed it, thanks for joining us and making the ride last as long as it did!

    Have a Day is awesome!

Is there anyway to get copies of the “Have a Day” calendars of previous years?

Thanks a ton Calvin! Seriously, we work hard on these and any compliments really feel great. For previous years, we have some of them available and some not. Just email me and let me know which years you are interested in and we’ll see what we can do!

This is probably a pretty stupid question, but, can you order these calendars from this site?

No stupid questions. No, you can’t buy them directly from us, but below each calendar is a link to people you can buy them from. Thanks for your interest!

Please do not stop publishing Have A Day Calendars the way they have been published, with a Smiley for each day of the year. It is fun and brings a light of humor each day of the year to grown ups and kids. Think about it.

Thanks anyway for having published that calendar for many years.

    Blessings.

    Hi,

I love the have a day calendars! Thank you for making me smile at least once a day. I’ve been looking for the 2008 wall calendar edition and can’t find it. Is it going to be made and/or be available soon?

    Thanks,

I deeply regret to tell you all that the “Have a Day” calendar can’t be found online at the moment, and I’m trying to find out from my publisher where someone can possibly find them in the “real world”. Obviously, the “Have a Day” calendars just aren’t in demand as they’ve been in the past, which I find to be rather weird since I think it’s pretty timeless stuff. It’s also the heart and soul of Mantis Design. Nevertheless, my publisher has informed me that we won’t be doing a calendar for 2008. Anyway, I will be looking to relaunch the calendars sometime in the future.

This makes me cry. I have loved these calenders for years. All the smiles that came from my face when I would look at the smiles looking at me each day….

    I think today isn’t “Have a rockin’ day” anymore….

now it’s “Have a Melancholy Day”.

Thank you for the great tees and calenders over the years…

..excuse me while I go paint my face yellow for Halloween…

Nooooo! That’s terrible! I loved the Have A Day calendars! They made me smile and laugh at all the days that were there! Plus they were so creative! I certainly hope you can find a way to bring them back next year….

My teenage son just loved your “have a day” calendar. Every year he was happy to find the new one under the Christmas tree. I hope you will bring them back. I think that they are popular, but I always had trouble finding them. If you could get them in the mall kiosks that sell calendars, I think they would sell great!! Please try again. Either way…Have a day!!!

So sad to find out there won’t be a 2008! I’ve had Smiley on my wall for years. Please, if you find out where the little one can be procured, let me know. Thanks!

I was looking for one today in the Calendar store and was surprised not to see it.

It’s corny to say, but I’m shocked that they won’t be one for 2008.

Calendars for cows, hamsters and squirrels, but not happy faces! Very, very sad.

I’m thinking: self-publish and sell on the internet. I know three calendars that get purchased every single year. I wouldn’t flinch if it cost twice as much. It’s a classic.

For years, I’d buy 8 to 12 of the Have A Day Smiley face calendars, till I could no longer find them. Never once did I see any left over at beginning of new year. Whoever made decision to not make any more has cost his/her company lots of money. I’d buy 10 today, at whatever cost, if I could find them. Have lots of grandkids and grown family that loved to read each days sayings on them. If they can be found, Please, Please let me know where. Thanks

Now I’m sad. Not only will I not get my favorite calender for Christmas, but now I’ll never know if The Searcher and The Smiley escape from the island. An what of the latest band of monkeys to capture them, where the friend or foe? The world will never know.

Sigh. After a day at the mall, having gone there mainly to find a 2008 Have a Day calendar, and failing miserably, I come home and Google it, only to be met with this tragic news. Any publisher stupid enough NOT to publish the only calendar worth having is one sick puppy and you need to find a publisher with a heart, a soul, and business sense!!!!!!

How on earth will I get through 2008 without that precious Smiley Face????? How???? I gave up smoking more easily than I can give up this calendar!

Please… it isn’t too late. It isn’t 2008 yet. Please… resurrect the Smiley Face!

    Oh, woe…

I’ve given Have a Day to my son for quite a few years - he’s now 23 and I was still looking to get 2008 for him. When he was younger, he’d wake up each morning and let everyone in the family know what kind of day it was. It made all of us start our day with a smile. I wish you would take email addresses so that you can notify us when you start these calendars again. Thanks for the fun.

Thank you for the past years. :)

I agree with everyone else who said how sad this is. I totally agree that if they can justify selling all those dogs and cheesy entertainment/TV show calendars, this should be available too. My two teenagers have had this on their bathroom door for the past several years, and we all enjoy looking at it. What a sad piece of news…it’s a little thing, but it has been a bright spot for our family.

I stopped buying Outhouse calendars after I discovered the Have a Day calendar many moons ago. I was crushed to see we won’t be blessed with a 2008 version. As a guy at work would say, “Bad, bad, very bad”. Let’s all hope 2009 is a better year.

No wonder I can’t find your 2008 calendar! I’ve been looking everywhere and I’m told “We don’t have it yet”. My kids have asked for the wall calendar for many years. My son would look forward to an especially amusing day so he could share it with everyone. I hope some day you will bring it back. We will miss it!

THIS SUCKS, I loved this calendar and was one of the people who purchased it every year. Please let me know if it is brought back for 2009. I can tell you it’s not going to be a good year for 2008 since I will not have the calendar to let me know what kind of day it’s going to be. I’ve enjoyed it over the years and have kept them all. Thanks for the good days.

My wife has loved having this calendar. We discovered it about 3-4 yrs ago and have had one ever since. I am sad to find that I can’t get one for her this year.

Who is the publisher? I am going to refuse to buy any other calendar (or anything else) they put out.

I am a marketing professional and maybe I could help you guys get the 2008 calendar back out on the racks (or at least online). Contact me if you are interested.

    PLEASE BRING THE CALENDAR BACK!!!!!!!

Thanks for the memories, and I’ll be watching for the return, be it in stores or online. *coughhack*cafepress*coughcough

I am so SAD that this calendar will not be available for 2008. I have a smile face collection and this was a perfect addition to my collection every year. Plus it helped me start my day out right. My friends will also be sad when they come over in 2008 and can not check and see what kind of day it is.

Thank you for all the days of smiles. You guys did an awesome job and I hope the calendar will be back in 2009.

I can not live correctly without my have a day calender. If I don’t have it I will not be able to decide anything about my day…what to wear, how to do my hair, what kind of mood to be in, what to do, etc. I was finally able to get off of Lithium because the calender helped me keep my sanity. I’ll pay $500 for one. I need a have a day calender!

I echo everyone’s sadness here. I have loved the calendars for years, and actually used the page-a-day calendar in my high school English classroom last year. It became a morning routine for my students to tear off the previous day and share the current smiley. It never ceased to be entertaining and bring a smile to everyone’s face. It will be sorely missed, but I’ll continue to check back every year until it comes back. Thanks for everything you all do at Mantis to keep us smiling!

No 2008 Have a Day Calendar? That’s B@$##^*%t!! Your publisher has a severe case of Rectal-Cranial Inversion! We have been searching for 2 months for our favorite calendar to be able to start the year out, and now we can’t get it?? All the bookstores and shops we have been too know EXACTLY which one it is, but also wonder why they havn’t gotten any in,so it MUST be pretty popular. We look forward every day to getting up and seeing what kind of day it is. It always puts a smile on our face. You really SHOULD find a different publisher. Please keep us posted should you find a publisher who does’t have their head up their A#%, and we can get our favorite Calendar again!! “Have A Day” is the most AWESOME ever! LONG LIVE SMILE E. FACE!! :)

I was deeply depressed to see that there would be no 2008 calendar. These calendars got me through my time in the Army and have adorned my walls for years. I liked some of the smiley faces so much that I went so far as to have one of them incorporated into one of my tattoo’s. Have an Insane Day! will always be available to me and anyone that can see that tattoo. I know so many people that are probably also crushed that this calendar will not be available, so get your publisher an enema to flush out their brain and make the calendar’s come back!

Bah! Have-A-Day calendar is the single greatest calendar on the market! I’ve had it in my various offices & cubicles for the last 4 years and EVERYONE that sees it stops, reads it, and starts laughing! I’m shocked that your publisher would pull it. Sounds like they’re the ones at fault as they didn’t market it well enough to sell a ton. It was a pretty tricky calendar to get ahold of but anyone that saw it hanging up wanted to know where I got it.

Well here’s to hopes of an ‘09 edition! Heck, I’ll take a 08+1/2 edition if you can get it done! :-) You guys rock! Keep up the unique work!

My spouse and I have been collecting these calendars since… oh, gosh, how long has it been? Five, ten years? We couldn’t find ‘em in the stores this year, and I guess now we know why. All of a sudden, I’m glad we don’t ever throw these calendars out.

Still, do you think it’s at all likely that ‘have a day’ calendars will be back? It’s just not the same without a current one to look at.

  53. Roxy said,

    on March 19th, 2008 at 7:59 pm

I had one of these when I was still in high school in 2002. I never saw another one, but I couldn’t bring myself to get rid of it. I just ran across it today cleaning out some old stuff and realized that I could probably get it online. I was so disappointed to find that I could have been getting it all these years, but now that I think to check the Web for it, it’s canceled! I really hope you bring it back for 2009. Hey, here’s an idea: perhaps you could (at least) consider something on your site for what have-a-day it is, or dedicating a page to for it! After all, as you can tell your publishers, publishing it here is free (’cept for man hours)! *wink**wink* And a daily or even monthly web comic could generate a lot of site traffic! Eh? Eh?
